The HMS Vanguard was designed by Sir Thomas Slade and was built as one of fourteen Third Rate 74 gun ships of the Arrogant class. HMS Vanguard was the thirteenth built. 

Initial design 1758, Vanguard was ordered 9 December 1779, keel laid on 16 October 1782, and launched 6 March 1787.

Nelson commanded the HMS Vanguard during The Battle of the Nile in 1798. This model will portray the ship as in the Battle of the Nile.
